Leaving Comments

Hi everyone, thanks for all the nice comments. I just have one request, please don't leave any malicous hyperlinks. Links to your own blogs are great and much appreciated.

This is what has been happening the past couple of weeks...

As we always say "pictures speak a thousand words", this is going to be a pictures-heavy post and it's pretty much what has been happening in the Cusiter household. Enjoy! =)

Wee man's second tooth pushed through his gum last weekend, and that explained why he has been cranky most of the time.

I am a big boy now and no more baby bathtub for me!

He is getting ready to crawl any time soon

I love playing Peekaboo with mummy and daddy

We got wee man a high chair from Ikea last weekend and he love sitting in it while having his meal. I guess it must make him feel like he is one of us now- A big boy! =)

Wee man is trying to figure out how does his new toys work. It's the Bright star Bounce Bounce Baby Activity Zone, he loves it!

Love munching on those "mum-mum" baby biscuits...

One of mummy's favorite pictures of wee man!

My Wee Boy

Fit like? What do you think about my Scotland top? :p

Look at you in your wee Scotland football top! You look more like a wee boy instead of an infant now. Your second tooth has pushed through the gum during the weekend and that explained why you have been cranky and clinging to mummy for the past week.

Mummy could only wish you will grow up a little slower...

Long lost friend

My cousin, Jaymie found me on Facebook! She is my childhood best friend and we were as closed as sisters for years. We parted our ways for years after college due to some unsolved family issues between our parents. I am so glad that she finally found me and it's great to know that the desire to patch up is mutual. Thanks to Facebook! =)

My heart is aching

... for my dear friend PengChe from college who has been battling with Cancer since Dec 2005. Since her initial treatment she has gone through 3 surgeries and numerous chemotherapy sessions. However, her body doesn't seem to respond to any of the treatments. She was advised that her body is too weak to get any further treatment by the doctor. She has been shedding quite a lot of weight and losing her appetite lately. The latest result from the CT-scan shows the tumour has metastasized to other part of her body. I can only pray for her and may god be with her at this toughest moment in her life.

I visited her while I was on vacation in January and she seemed to be doing fine and have an uplifting spirit. One would never think she is diagnosed with terminal Cancer as she is still cheerful and optimistic. As for last Saturday, things took a sudden turn and she was admitted to Singapore General Hospital emergency unit. My heart goes out to her and her family, hopefully PengChe will feel better soon. I love you, my friend!

PengChe, Euan and I

I will pray for Penny. Please do the same for her if you're reading my post today.

I was tossing and turning in bed last night and have been thinking about PengChe the whole night. I think it's time to reinvigorate and fulfill my dreams and to do plans. Life is too short to just sit around and keep dreaming without taking any action. No more procrastinating and wasting another minute.

Here is my dreams list:
1. Go looking for elves in Iceland
2. Inca trail treking to Machu Picchu
3. Visit the legendary Taj Mahal and experience the greatest love story in India
4. Learn how to crochet
5. Master the art of sewing and make a quilt
6. Own a cafe or a yarn shop
7. Learn a foreign language
8. Read more!

Sometimes we tend to take life for granted and we had forgotten how good it's to be able to wake up everyday next to our love one. We even forget to remind ourself how lucky we are to be able to wake up and start a day with sunshine awaiting us outside the window. So, as today the first day of spring, I will stop and smell the flowers, hug a tree, close my eye and feel the breeze against my cheek, say thanks to the birds who sing every morning! Tell friends and family around me how much I love and care for them. Be the best person I can be and learn not to be angry and prejudice. Live life to the fullest, laugh and cry and enjoy every moment in life. Practice to be patience, be nice to myself and others, try to reach out to help others and do not prejudge anything. Stay happy and be a better mum to Euan, better wife to Scott, better sister to my brother and SIL, better daughter to my parents =)

Do I still knit?

As of knitting news, there is not much progress since the wee man was born. One might think a stay-at-mum should have all the time in the world to knit as much as she wants. Well.... at least that's my wishful thinking at one point... Well, unfortunately my world revolves around the wee man now... nothing else but the wee man! But most importantly, I am happy with my life and the time I get to spend with my wee son. If I had to choose doing it all over again, surely I would do it again in the exact same way: quite my job and look after my wee man. Oh yes, I wouldn't change a thing!

My feather and fan scarf is 2/3 through. A project I started on the way home to Malaysia, I was hoping to kill some time during the long flight hours from Houston to Kuala Lumpur. I didn't get to knit much as I was exhausted taking care of an infant while flying solo. Not an easy task at all! I am hoping I can wrap it up in a couple of weeks!

Fetching was finally given to Eunice as her birthday present. I am glad she loves it and hopefully it will keep her warm. =)

A little Nutella cupcake made my day

I love Nutella! Whenever I have some, I have to have a thick layer on my toast or spoon it out straight from the jar. So when I came across this recipe from Bakingsheet during the weekend, I knew I had to try it out. I baked some last night and they turn out wonderfully!

wee man got me a self-designed gift card from Starbucks!=) (with the help from daddy, of course. Thanks, daddy!)

Now, What could go wrong with a Nutella cup cake and a venti latte from Starbuck...? It's heaven! =)

6-months-old

Our dear son,

Time sure flies, you just turned 6-months-old last week. Mummy still remembers vividly the day you were born into this world. You were born 2-1/2 weeks earlier than the expected due date and we were delighted to have you early as daddy and I were getting very impatient to see you.

Excited mummy- before contractions started

Happy daddy- Euan were only a few minutes old

You've grown into a lovely wee boy, so different from the wee bundle of joy we brought home from the hospital half a year ago. You started teething a couple of weeks ago. The past week has been tough on the whole family as you are cranky and can't sleep well at night. Mummy knows it hurts and it's very uncomfortable, and most likely you don't even understand why it's hurting. Please be patient and learn to appreciate the process of growing. Mummy and daddy will always be here for you. As you know, we love you lots and lots!

Wee man drool quite a bit since started teething

As you grow up, you will realize life is full of ups and downs of its own; there will always be times when we have to bear with pain in life, physically and emotionally to move on. Hopefully we learn from the experience and become a better person. It's a process of growing up that I am sure you will soon learn. No one can live in their own little fantasy world without experiencing any hardship in life. However, as your mum, I am hoping you will not need to go through too much pain in your life. But at the same time, I understand its impossible for mummy to stop it from happening, you need to grow up and learn what life has to offer. Therefore, mummy is hoping you will grow up to be an optimist and never give up when life is tough and always remember to learn from your experiece.

Before old age strikes, mummy better write down everything about wee Euan here ...
- You were born 2-1/2 weeks early on a rainy September evening. Mummy did not realize you are coming after labor day weekend and I went to work that morning and only realized I was in active labour and 4 centimeter dilated at Dr. Samotas office during a regular check up that afternoon.

- Mummy was checked in to the hospital at around 5 pm and you were born 3 hours later. I guess you must be impatient and wanted to see daddy and mummy badly. :P

- When we brought you home, you sleep like a baby for the first couple of weeks. You were such a content and happy baby and did not cry at all.

- You started having colic and spat up small amounts of food when you were around 3-4-week-old. You were miserable as you belly was always windy. Poor baby....

- We went to Malaysia to visit your grandma, grandpa and attend uncle Hsian's wedding when you were 3-months-old. You were such a great baby and put up with the long hour flight without throwing any fusses.

Uncle's wedding

Cameron Highlands vacation with family

-At 4 months of age, you decided pacifier is no longer of use for you instead you decided to suck your tumb- Uncle Shaun style according to daddy.

Sucking away

- You were sick when you were a little over 4-months-old. It was the first time you were sick. Your temperature was so high that we rushed you to the emergency room in the middle of the night. The doctor's diagnosis was a urinary tract infection. Thank goodness you got well in less than a week after taking antibiotics.

Sick Euan

- You started learning to sit right after we came home from Malaysia. You can sit quite well now ( still a bit wobbly), and now you are learning to crawl with great enthusiasm.

Look! Look! I can sit up now! =)

- Your first tooth pushed through your gum about 2 weeks ago. It's you left lower front tooth.

If you look closely, you can see my first wee tooth! =)

- You love stamping your left foot when you are excited and angry. We are thinking your going to be a lefty. It's still a wee bit early to tell now. Daddy says that Aerdeen and Scotland are in need of a good left footer!

- Euan loves: Mummy, Daddy, Aunty Eunice, Uncle Hsian, peas, Sophie la girafe, watching Snowball, Ginger and Cookie, talking to the ceiling fan, playing with his feet, milk, daddy and mummy's bed, bath time with your rubber ducks, looking into the mirror, board books and posing for the camera.

Wee man loves spending time with daddy

- Euan dislikes: squash, corn, bedtime, being left alone.

Your dislikes are short right now, but as you grow older we are sure this list will grow.

When your older and read these post I hope you can feel the love mummy and daddy have for you. Even with the sleepless nights, temper tantrums and many shirts with drool all over them your still our special wee guy.

Love from mummy and daddy...xxxx.......
